Our Story

Waterspeed was born from the vision of our founder, Massimiliano Picchi. As an avid sailor, he experienced the joys and challenges of watersports firsthand. Seeking to enhance his own sailing sessions, Massimiliano set out to create a tool that would track his performance and also help him analyze and improve his skills.

What started as a personal project soon evolved into something much greater. After hours of development and fine-tuning, Massimiliano decided to share his creation with the world.

Waterspeed made its debut on the App Store, and its impact was immediate.

Watersport enthusiasts from all corners of the globe embraced the app, transforming it into a must-have tool for anyone passionate about their on-water adventures.

In 2021, Waterspeed welcomed a dynamic addition to its leadership team – Costantino Spagnoletti. With an impressive corporate career spanning 15 years, Costantino made the bold decision to pivot towards entrepreneurship and join our ranks.

Costantino’s arrival brought a fresh perspective and a wealth of experience to Waterspeed. His corporate background, combined with his entrepreneurial spirit, has been instrumental in driving innovation and growth within the company. Under his leadership, Waterspeed has continued to evolve, pushing boundaries and setting new standards in the world of watersport technology.

After successfully passing validation processes for metrics and product market fit, Waterspeed achieved a significant milestone in April 2023. We proudly incorporated our company within the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) in the United Arab Emirates. This strategic move represents our commitment to expanding our global reach and serving watersport enthusiasts around the world. Dubai, with its thriving ecosystem and international outlook, provides Waterspeed with a strong foundation for future growth and innovation. We’re excited to continue our journey, now from the heart of one of the world’s most dynamic business hubs.
